Ambassador Cruise Line takes on Dartmoor Heroes Hike in aid of Help For Heroes

'Unfit, Untrainable Marketing Team' set to trek 25 km across Devon on 14 September 2024

Ambassador Cruise Line is proud to announce that members of its Marketing Team have committed to a 25 km Dartmoor Heroes Hike across Dartmoor National Park this September in support of the no-fly cruise line’s nominated charity, Help for Heroes.

In March 2024, Ambassador announced a three-year partnership with the UK’s leading Armed Forces and veterans charity, which includes providing exclusive access to veterans, hosting a series of bespoke onboard activities and pledging to raise essential funds that will help the charity continue to provide a holistic support service for veterans and their families, no matter when or where they served.

The Dartmoor Heroes Hike is one of several fundraising events Help For Heroes stage each year, and five members of Ambassador’s Marketing Team will set off on the trek that starts and ends in Oakhampton on 14 September 2024: Ambassador’s Chief Marketing Officer, Gordon Nardini; Assistant Marketing Manager, Delasi Adorkorbidji; Graphic Designer, Dan Stratford; Digital Marketing Assistant, Freddie Weeks; and Head of Communications, Ian Benjafield.

The marketers, who have affectionately (but correctly) dubbed themselves the ‘Unfit, Untrainable Marketing Team’, aim to raise £2,500 for Help for Heroes, and are reaching out to friends, colleagues, peers and the wider industry for encouragement and, of course, sponsorship.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Ambassador’s Chief Marketing Officer, Gordon Nardini, said: “As a company, we are proud to partner with Help for Heroes, which is close to the hearts of our guests, crew and indeed many people across the UK. We’re looking forward to experiencing the ups and downs of the Dartmoor Heroes Hike to raise funds for the charity while raising awareness of their ongoing work to support the incredible veterans who have given so much through their service.

“It will be a case of ‘best foot forward’ for the Unfit, Untrainable Marketing Team when we take on the 25 km challenge, and any contributions our friends in the industry can make, big or small, to this more than worthy cause would be most welcome. Thank you in advance for your encouragement and, of course, your generosity!”
