Advantage Travel Partnership Report Increase in Bookings

Booking patterns show consumers remain hopeful of summer holiday this year

The Advantage Travel Partnership are reporting an increase in holiday bookings in and around the green list announcements

Kelly Cookes, Leisure Director at Advantage Travel Partnership said “In the week commencing 4 May 2021, we have seen a considerable increase in bookings for 2021, with 54% of bookings for 2021, compared to 40% the previous week, demonstrating increased confidence in the return of travel in the lead-up and immediately after the green list announcement on 7 May.

Departures for June, July and August 2021, were up 14% compared to the previous week’s bookings for those months showing that consumers remain hopeful for a summer holiday this year.

The top three selling destinations for the week (4 May – 9 May) were Greece, Canary Islands and mainland Spain, however as the week went on, there was a noticeable lift in Portugal bookings over the weekend following the green list announcement. The Maldives was also selling well, with the majority of bookings for 2022.”
