The Travel Industry Golf Society Invitation to Northern Ireland Travel Trade Golfers

Anyone for golf? The Travel Industry Golf Society are inviting you to play Greenore Golf Club.

Anyone for golf?

The Travel Industry Golf Society down south is playing Greenore Golf Club on the shores of picturesque Carlingford Lough on Thursday 18th April and is inviting travel industry golfers from Northern Ireland to come along and join them and their sponsors Amadeus on the day.

Captain for 2019, Dermot Merrigan of Irish Ferries said; “We specifically chose Greenore not just for its beautiful location, but being only just over an hour from Belfast, we are hopeful that some of our great friends in the travel trade up North could possibly tee it up with us.  There’s not as much golfing connections between north and south as there used to be and perhaps this outing could be the start of something fun once again.  With all the political stuff going on in the background, there’s probably never been a better time to forge more closer ties whilst trying to find golf balls together!”

The outing is kindly sponsored by Amadeus, represented on the day by none other than the Vice Captain for 2019, Olwen McKinney.  “Amadeus is delighted to sponsor the TIGS event in Greenore and to continue our long standing association with the society” said Olwen.  “It’s a great chance for us to network with many of our customers and industry colleagues in an enjoyably social way, both on and off the course.”

Golfers of all levels are encouraged to come along, both male and female.  Olwen added; “We’re reaching out not just to seasoned travel industry golfers and their guests, but more especially to ladies and also to people picking up the game for the very first time.  As a relative newbie myself, there’s quite a few of us starting off at the same level which makes it great craic.  The great golf will come later I’m sure – maybe much later!”

Limited spaces still available.  Cost for golf and four course dinner afterward is £50.  Overnight options available if needed.  Golfers and their guests interested in playing, please email in advance:  tigsgolfsociety@gmail.com.
