Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, United, Southwest and Alaska Airlines have temporarily banned guns on Washington DC flights. American Airlines also said it won’t serve alcohol on flights.
Only members of law enforcement will be exempt from the firearm ban.
Speaking to CNBC, Delta CEO Ed Bastian said: “We’re all on high alert based on the events over the last couple of weeks in Washington.
“I don’t want to overreact. I think this is a moment hopefully in time with the outcry around the election results.”
