United Airlines Introduce New Health Self-Assessments

Travelling with United Airlines? You will now have to fill out a new health self-assessment form

Passengers travelling with United Airlines are no required to fill out a health self-assessment stating that they have had no Covid-19 symptoms in the past 14 days before travel.

It is part of United’s ‘Ready-to-Fly’ checklist in partnership with the Cleveland Clinic.

Customers must also state they have not been diagnosed with the virus in the past three weeks, or been denied boarding by another airline for similar reasons.
Dr. James Merlino, chief clinical transformation officer at Cleveland Clinic said: “As people are returning to their daily activities during the Covid-19 pandemic, their health and safety – as well as the health and safety of others – should continue to be top-of-mind.

“Our health experts are pleased to play a role in helping people travel more safely.”

Passengers must also wear face masks while the boarding process has been tweaked with smaller groups at a time being invited to board back-to-front. There is also a six-feet distancing rule in effect at ticket counters.
