Cosy nights have arrived, and colder temperatures are sneaking in but if you are a holiday fan, its time to ditch the pumpkin latte and plan a winter break.
Belfast International Airport has unveiled an exciting new winter schedule with over 400 flights to seven new destinations for 2024.
Alongside firm favourites across the UK and Europe, new routes for this winter include Prague, Marrakech, Fuerteventura with easyjet, a New Crystal Ski programme to Salzburg and Turin, Winter Sun with Jet2.com to Madeira and new city break options to Kaunas with Ryanair. There will also be more ski programme options with Travel Solutions and Balkan Holidays to Bulgaria.
Enjoy the stunning architecture in Prague on a city break, plan a break to Bulgaria, one of the most underrated and affordable destinations in Europe, or visit Marrakech, regarded as a city of luxury with its famous palaces, indulgent spas and charming traditional houses in the medina.
Outdoor thrill seekers can hit the slopes in style with a number of destinations including Salzburg, which is close to many of Austria’s top ski resorts. Or, if you prefer the ‘Ia dolce vita’, Turin is the
gateway to the Italian Alps, offering excellent snow conditions and is slightly less crowded than some other European resorts.
Many Northern Irish travellers want to escape the dark nights and plummeting temperatures for sunnier climbs and get some essential winter sun. Fuerteventura offers its famous white beaches
and sunshine all year round whilst Madeira will deliver stunning flowers, lush vegetation, fantastic hiking trails and delicious food and locally grown wine.
Dan Owens, Chief Executive Officer, Belfast International Airport said; “We have experienced one of our busiest summers on record as demand and appetite for travel continues to grow. By working closely with our airline and travel partners to increase capacity, we have been able to identify a range of new destinations that we know will appeal to passengers and boost connectivity for the region.”
Alongside the extensive destination offering for passengers, the Airport has recently completed the first phase of its £100 million investment plan with a new security building. The new technology
allows passengers to leave all electronics and liquids under 100ml in their hand luggage speeding up the security process and improving the overall passenger experience. Electronic
equipment; laptops, phones etc can now be left in their hand luggage alongside liquids under 100ml and plastic bags are no longer required.
Dan Owens continues; “Investing in route development as well as our facilities demonstrates our long-term commitment to improving and completely transforming the Airport. We look forward to completing further upgrades to terminal facilities to enhance customer experience in the coming months.”
