The introduction of new rules proposed by the government may see a rise in airline passengers eligible for compensation due to flight disruption.
The compensation that has been proposed means that passengers can receive a partial refund of their fare after a one-hour delay. The current minimum is three hours for domestic flights.
The Department for Transport said that the new proposed rules will offer a fairer system. Despite more people being eligible, people can still receive less in comparison to the EU system currently in place.
