Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced last night (August 4) that the UK government was removing the quarantine requirement for travellers returning from France

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced last night (August 4) that the UK government was removing the quarantine requirement for travellers returning from France and that Germany, Austria, and Norway were among several destinations being added to the Green List.

Making the announcement via his official Twitter page, Mr Shapps said: “We’re making some changes to our travel lists. Firstly, we’re removing the quarantine requirement for fully jabbed travellers coming back from #France. At the same time, we’re adding key destinations Germany, Austria, and Norway to the Green List.

“UAE, Qatar, India and Bahrain will be moved from the Red List to the Amber List. All changes come into effect Sun 8th August at 4am.

“While it’s right we continue our cautious approach, it’s great news to open more destinations for people wanting to connect with families, friends and businesses across the globe , all thanks to our successful domestic vaccination programme.”
