The UK Foreign Office has issued an urgent travel warning for more that a dozen countries in the southern Med and Middle East region following Iran's attack on Israel

The UK Foreign Office has issued an urgent travel warning for more that a dozen countries in the southern Med and Middle East region following Iran’s attack on Israel.

A statement from the FCDO said: “There is rising tension between Iran and Israel. Any military action could escalate quickly and could pose risks for the wider region. If you are in the region, or considering travel to the region, monitor news updates and continue to check FCDO travel advice.”

The travel warning covers destinations popular with holidaymakers such as Dubai, Morocco, Qatar, Egypt and Tunisia.

Also included are Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Bahrain, Kuwait, Libya, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Oman and Lebanon.

The Foreign Office said a sudden terror attack was ‘likely’ and could be in areas frequented by tourists.

Holidaymakers are advised to check the latest advice for the country they are planning to visit.
