UAE Airline carriers have released statements outlining its ongoing situation regarding flight disruption. This comes after regional airspace within the UAE faced closures over the weekend (W/C 23rd February).
Etihad Airways, one of two flag carriers for the UAE has confirmed all flights to and from Abu Dhabi are suspended until 14:00 UAE time on Tuesday 3rd March. Etihad Airways is also offering the following options for travellers affected by the Middle East situation, with commercial EY tickets issued on or before 28th February 2026;
Rebooking:
For cancelled flights:
- Standard schedule change policy applies with rebooking permitted till 18-Mar-26
For non-cancelled flights – travel on/before 07-Mar-26:
- Rebooking permitted free of charge on lowest available RBD in same cabin
- Rebooking up to 18-Mar-26 on EY ops EY or as per flights details originally booked
- If TLV is the destination, rerouting permitted to ATH / AMM on EY ops EY
- Change fees, no-show fees, and service charges are waived
- Ticket re-issue must be completed on/before 07-Mar-26
- For all other scenarios, fare rules apply
Refund:
For cancelled flights:
- Standard schedule change applies
For non-cancelled flights:
- For travel on/before 07-Mar-26:
- For unused tickets – full refund permitted
- For partially used tickets – permitted on prorate basis
- All penalties and service charges waived
- For travel on/after 08-Mar-26: fare rules apply

Emirates have also released a statement in regards to effected flights. The airline is the second flag carrier for the UAE.
Emirates has temporarily suspended all operations to and from Dubai, up until 1500hrs UAE time on Tuesday 3rd March.
The airline is urging all customers to review the latest operational updates on emirates.com and check their email for any notifications about changes or cancellations to their flights before travelling to the airport.
Passengers can rebook on another flight to their intended destination for travel on or before 20 March. If you booked your flight with a travel agent, please contact them. You can request for a refund of your ticket by completing the refund form on the airline’s website if you booked directly. If you booked your flights with a travel agent, please contact them.
Emirates is also encouraging all customers to check flight status before proceeding to the airport.

Flights to Doha, Qatar have also been impacted by the closure of its airspace. Its national carrier, Qatar Airways, has said:
‘Qatar Airways flights to, and from, Doha have been temporarily suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace.
The safety of our passengers and employees is always our highest priority, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
