TWELVE Countries Set to be Removed from Red Travel List, Predicts Covid Data Analyst

Winter sun for fully vaccinated travellers could become more likely as covid data analyst Tim White predicts 12 countries will make the move from England's red list

Winter sun for fully vaccinated travellers could become more likely as Covid data analyst Tim White predicts 12 countries will make the move from England’s red list.

Speaking to The Independent, Mr White expects Turkey, South Africa, the Maldives, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Kenya and Mexico to be removed from the red travel list, with the potential of Pakistan, Peru, Argentina and Bangladesh making the move at the latest Covid travel update.

The list, which currently includes over 60 countries, is set to be heavily reduced as movement into a two-tier system is underway.

The Turkish embassy is also hopeful of the predicted news as they told Sky News they expect to be removed from the list:

“The Covid-19 related data of Turkey, which are the criteria for the UK’s traffic lights system, are, if compared scientifically and objectively, better than quite a number of countries that are already in the amber list,” it said.

This is welcomed news after it was recently reported that PCR testing could be scrapped for fully vaccinated travellers returning to the UK.
