Tunisia Awarded WTTC Safe Travels Stamp

Tunisia has been awarded the WTTC's Safe Travels stamp recognising the countries efforts to ensure it is ready to restart tourism

Tunisia has met the requirements of the WTTC’s Safe Travels stamp.

Tunisia embarked on the third phase of its efforts to lift its coronavirus lockdown on 4 June. Inter-city and regional travel has resumed, while air, sea and land borders reopened on June 27.

The WTTC launched its first global safety and hygiene stamp for tourism last month to help rebuild traveller confidence in the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic.

The Safe Travels protocols include new hygiene standards for hotels, such as enhanced cleaning with a specific focus on touchpoints, new staff training, contactless payments, no-contact service and social distancing. Advice for retail and service premises include providing hand sanitisers at entrances and exits, offering digital food menus and limiting car park capacities.
