TUI Warns Customers about Facebook Scam

TUI is warning customers about a Facebook scam using its name

The Facebook page posing as the travel giant is doing the rounds offering the chance to win free holidays.

The page asks users to sign up with their personal details so they can be contacted if they ‘win’.

One fake page, with a competition offerings 150 holidays for two to Cyprus, has already received nearly 20,000 likes.

Another fake competition says a holiday to Bora Bora is up for grabs, says Wales Online.

A TUI spokesman told Wales Online: “We are aware of this Facebook page and we can confirm that it has no affiliation with the TUI brand.

“We would like to remind customers of the importance of making sure that the page is verified before interacting with it, which can be easily checked by looking for the blue tick next to our name.

“We have reported this to Facebook and they have advised they will be closing it down as soon as possible.”
