The US Transportation Security Administration has rescued a live cat after spotting the furry stowaway in a travellers bag as they passed through the security scanner at New York’s JFK Airport.
Lisa Farbstein of the TSA Office of Public Affairs tweeted: “A TSA officer found an orange cat inside a checked bag at @JFKairport after it went through the X-ray unit.
“On the bright side, the cat’s safely back home”
The bag’s owner was unaware of the would-be stowaway and the cat belonged to someone else in the household.
The adventurous feline’s owner was unaware of her cat’s impending trip until she received a call from airport authorities.
