Research shows that travellers in 2023 are more determined than ever to veer off course to enjoy all-new experiences and to create special memories with friends and family.

Such studies have revealed that over half of holiday makers want to escape reality and unwind in the freedom of going off the beaten path. However, 53% of these people admitted they would require a few luxuries and phone signal.

With over 30 years working in the industry, Sarah Slattery is one of Irelands most influential and knowledgeable travel experts.

Sarah said:

“It is really interesting to see how travel trends have fluctuated over the past couple of years and it is clear that people are definitely prioritising travel this summer.

“There is no doubt that parents consider time away with their children essential for bonding, and there are numerous studies that show travel experiences to be one of the most emotionally intense memories. I think we all have that one happy place that we look back on with fondness.”

“…We spent so much time discovering our home country over the last number of years, but how much did we really see? Most of us visited our top attractions, perhaps now it’s time to take the road less travelled.”

In addition, as environmental concerns continue to rise, more and more travellers are seeking out eco-friendly and sustainable travel options.
