Travel Curious, which specialises in providing private, bespoke, unforgettable cultural experiences with handpicked guides to travellers in 62 cities around the world, is partnering with Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest independent hotel brand that represents more than 750 luxury hotels, resorts, and residences across 85 countries.
Travel Curious is unique in the tours and experiences sector due to the scale of its operation, its policy of handpicking its 900+ tour guides, and the fact it creates and operates all its tours, as well as providing the traveller, or the travel partner, with the ability to book instantly.
The partnership will give travellers who book stays across Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio access to Travel Curious’ private tours and activities; enhancing the overall luxury travel experience and introducing guests to the authentic stories each destination has to offer.
Travel Curious’ local, cultural tours and activities are seamlessly integrated into the Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ online booking process, and the Travel Curious customer service agents will work directly with the guest from the point of booking to the day of the experience to customise the tour to match the traveller needs, and to ensure the experience is perfect in every way. Travel Curious matches the guest with the perfect guide, using their proprietary match and dispatch engine.
The guest and their party can then enjoy a private experience, as part of their stay at a Preferred member property, led by a hand-picked tour guide or local insider who has unrivalled knowledge about, and passion for, the destination.
Alex Grant, Chief Product Officer and co-founder, Travel Curious, says: “We are delighted to be partnering with Preferred Hotels & Resorts at this time in our development, when we have built up a network of more than 900 handpicked guides, operating a huge range of bespoke, local and cultural tours and experiences in more than 62 cities, and believe this alliance to be a great match.
“We have a complementary destination footprint, and we’re excited to work towards expanding this partnership over the coming years. The importance of a safe, premium experience for guests is paramount to both organisations, and we look forward to implementing our booking widgets and working closely with Preferred to make the digital customer journey seamless.
“We are looking forward to offering the guests of Preferred Hotels & Resorts unique perspectives on the places they are visiting with guides who are not only local insiders, but story-tellers at heart. Whether it is a former Oxford Union President taking you behind the scenes in Oxford, or a special early morning private viewing in the Sistine Chapel before the crowds, they are exciting prospects for any traveller.”
Kristie Goshow, Chief Marketing Officer of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, says: “More than ever, our guests seek tailor-made immersion with local communities in a format truly designed around their needs and expectations. We are thrilled to embark on this new partnership with Travel Curious to support local tour guides and businesses and propel sustainable destination tourism – a valuable perspective that Preferred Hotels & Resorts passionately champions.”
