Tourists Joy as Thailand Changes Vaccine Policy in Welcomed U-Turn

Thailand has revised restrictions put in place just last weekend after a u-turn was made

Thailand has revised restrictions put in place just last weekend after a u-turn was made.

Thailand’s covid vaccination policy changed at the weekend to require foreign arrivals to provide vaccination proof on arrival.

With only under 18’s exempt from the vaccination restrictions, this rule would bring the country back into pandemic tourism levels.

Despite the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand issuing the new rules, in a bazar move on Monday 9th January, the Tourism Authority of Thailand confirmed the requirements would not apply; This apparent move came after talks with stakeholders and the tourism industry within Thailand.

Speaking to Travel Gossip, the Tourism Authority of Thailand said:
“We are pleased to confirm that any changes to Thailand’s entry requirements initially announced on Friday have now been rescinded.

“Thailand maintains fully-reopen entry rules.”
