Ahead of Belfast’s celebration of Irish music, dance and culture ‘Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann,’ Tourism Northern Ireland are looking for new, demand-generating musical experiences for the island.

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann event has given Northern Ireland the opportunity to showcase cultural strengths, drive visitor numbers and increases hospitality demand. Leading to Tourism Northern Ireland’s aim to further enhance the island’s strengths with a new Music Experience Development Programme.

The Music Experience Development Programme will include multi-sensory experiences that allow visitors to learn how to play or make an instrument, meeting musicians along with guided music tours.

Liz Steele, Culture and Heritage Tourism Manager at Tourism NI, said: “We know that the sound of music beats in every town and village across Northern Ireland, music that has been shaped by tradition and artists. We want visitors to share in these traditions and connect with the music makers who make our places unique.”

The new programme will aim to develop new and authentic music experiences attracting visitors now and in the future.
