Since its inception in 1993, Sziget Festival has become one of the biggest multi-genre music festivals in the world!
The festival transforms Obuda Island in Budapest into a veritable musical haven, which welcomes over 550,000 people annually; with an amazing lineup that includes the biggest names in music. Recent past headliners have included the likes of Post Malone, Foo Fighters, Martin Garrix, Florence and the Machine and The 1975. The lineup for 2020 will be announced early in the New Year.
Sziget is not just about music; what makes this festival so special is the plethora of other activities available such as dance stages, a cinema, theatre, contemporary circus shows, sporting events, and even a beach where you can take a dip in the Danube.
Óbuda Island is located in the north of Budapest on the Danube. It is more than just ‘the island where Sziget takes place’ – during the festival in August, the entire city lights up for a week of non-stop partying!
