On Sunday 22nd January, two billion people from all around the world will come together to celebrate the lunar new year, or as it is more commonly known, the Chinese New Year. This annual holiday traditionally symbolises the closing of the year and welcomes in luck and prosperity for the year ahead.

There are many cultural traditions that can be followed when celebrating Chinese New Year, but amidst the celebrations, most take time to focus on cleansing their mind, healing their body and finding inner zen, to enter the new year with a positive mindset.

For centuries, Chinese culture has been renowned for prioritising wellbeing and many of the wellness practices which we subscribe to today stem from eastern origins. From world-renowned spa facilities to spa treatments tailored to an individual’s needs and performed by highly trained professional therapists, this culture which focuses on wellness, self-care and restorative practices is embedded into the heart of Galgorm Collection’s spas.

With the new lunar year, comes a new Chinese zodiac sign, represented by one of 12 animals. This January welcomes the Year of the Rabbit, which in Chinese culture is thought to symbolise longevity, peace and prosperity, predicting 2023 to be a year of hope.

There is therefore no better place to relax, unwind and refocus the mind this Chinese New Year than visiting the spa at The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat.

Situated just 20 minutes from Belfast and 10 minutes from Belfast International Airport, The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat, part of Galgorm Collection hotels is an idyllic retreat located in the picturesque village of Templepatrick village, in the heart of the County Antrim countryside.
