Action and adventure sports are becoming increasingly popular due to the excitement and adrenaline that people often get from doing them – and countries all across Europe have been making the most of this increased demand.
But if you are looking to explore your wild side while in Europe, where should you look to visit?
Over 2000 adventure activities on offer across 30 European countries have been analysed, to determine the best locations for adventure sports.
The UK took eighth place on the index with 65 bookable activities available.
Surfing, a sport introduced to the Tokyo Olympics earlier in 2021, was the most common bookable adventure sport in the UK. Surfing accounted for over a quarter (26%) of all the bookable action sports available in the UK.
Although typically associated with the summer, the Autumn months are usually regarded as some of the best for surfing in the UK, as the most blustery weather creates more waves for experienced enthusiasts to ride.
