As of Thursday 1st December, the entry requirements to the island of Rapa Nui became more flexible, and from now on, it will not be necessary to submit a negative PCR test to visit this area of Chile.
The updated document stated that Chilean tourists will continue to be asked for an up-to-date certificate of vaccination. Foreign visitors must show the vaccination certificate from their country of origin.
It is also noted that, under the power of the health authority, checkpoints will be established at Rapa Nui port and airport facilities. Detection devices for SARS-CoV-2 will also be in place at both of these locations.
Thus, the Chilean authorities have the right to perform PCR tests on the island of Rapa Nui and carry out respective follow-ups for up to 5 days.
