The Attenborough Effect: Increase in Kenya Holiday Searches

Tailor-made holiday specialist, Travelbag, has reported a marked increase in online holiday searches to Kenya following Sir David Attenborough’s latest series, Dynasties, by BBC Earth which is currently airing every Sunday evening at 8pm on BBC One

The series follows the true stories of five of the world’s most celebrated, yet endangered animals with last Sunday’s episode featuring a pride of lions in Kenya’s iconic Maasai Mara reserve.

Just one day after the episode was broadcast on BBC One the number of British holidaymakers interested in an African getaway saw an increase compared to the same day the previous week as the holiday specialist reported a 16% increase in views on the Kenya page of their website.

David Attenborough’s latest five-part series follows on from the widely popular Planet Earth and Blue Planet series and explores the lives of different tribes in the animal kingdom as they fight for survival.

Paul Hopkinson, Marketing Director at Travelbag said: “Sir David Attenborough has been inspiring viewers to take wildlife holidays for decades and last weekend’s Lion episode was truly spectacular! It’s exciting to see the impact Dynasties has had on travellers in educating them on these species and inspiring them to see these incredible creatures first-hand in their natural habitat.”
