Stena Line to DOUBLE Rosslare to Cherbourg Route

It will also treble capacity for tourists on the Rosslare to Cherbourg route for summer 2023

Rosslare Europort management have welcomed the announcement by Stena Line that it is to double sailing frequency and treble capacity for tourists on the Rosslare to Cherbourg route for summer 2023, with the introduction of the Stena Vision cruise ferry on the route from June 2023.

In addition to the existing Stena Horizon ferry, it means there will be six sailings each way between Rosslare Europort and Cherbourg every week from June, ideal for tourists looking for a sustainable travel option between Ireland and France.

The Stena Vision brings with it space for up to 1,300 passengers, with 485 passenger cabins, offering the widest selection of cabins across all of the company’s ferries.

The new travel experience includes a wide choice of bars and restaurants, as well as an onboard Nordic Spa.   It even boasts 42 cabins equipped for pets, meaning the entire family can holiday from Rosslare Europort next summer.

Glenn Carr, Director Commercial Business Units for Rosslare Europort’s Port Authority Iarnród Éireann said

“in Rosslare Europort, we have transformed freight transport between Ireland and Europe post-Brexit with our huge expansion of operations to facilitate trade.  Now we embark on the same journey for tourists, particularly those looking to avoid summer airport chaos.”

“Today’s announcement by Stena Line that they are to introduce the magnificent Stena Vision onto the Rosslare to Cherbourg route is hot on the heels of Brittany Ferries’ launch of the Salamanca on the Rosslare to Bilbao route, also a cruise ferry service.”

“Rosslare Europort will be Ireland’s Gateway to Europe for both passenger and freight services, and we look forward to continued growth as we develop the Port under our masterplan,” Carr concluded.
