Holidaymakers have been warned to expect strong winds in the Canary Islands this weekend as the islands’ State Meterological Agency issue a yellow weather warning.

Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Palma and La Gomera have issued a weather warning for strong winds this weekend noting that it would make it dangerous to swim.

Holidaymakers are advised to follow local advice.

There is no weather warning in place for Lanzarote, Fuerteventura or El Hierro where mild weather is set to continue.

This week, the Canary Islands were the hottest place in Spain with temperatures above 32 degrees.
