“Sluggish” EU Vaccine Rollout Will Impact Passenger Traffic Says Ryanair

Ryanair says it expects a "sluggish" EU vaccine rollout to impact passenger traffic

Ryanair says it expects a “sluggish” EU vaccine rollout to impact passenger traffic with the airline now expecting passenger traffic to be at the lower end of its previous estimate of 80-120 million people for the current financial year.

In a statement, the airline said: “Easter travel restrictions and lockdowns and a delayed traffic recovery into the peak summer 2021 season, due to the slow rollout in the EU of COVID-19 vaccines, means that FY22 traffic is likely to be towards the lower end.”

Ryanair carried just 27.5 million passengers in the last 12 months.
