Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours (www.scenic.co.uk) is rolling out an enhanced city stay programme, offering guests longer pre or post-cruise city stays in Europe.

Guests can opt to stay for up to five days in Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, Prague, Ljubljana, Zagreb and other major cities, with Scenic arranging accommodation, transfers, tours and meals. These city stays can come before or after a Scenic River Cruise.

Highlights of the extended city stay programme include:

Jewels of Europe with Ljubljana & Zagreb

This summer, guests can commence or conclude the 18-day Jewels of Europe cruise in style with a five-day city stay in Zagreb and Ljubljana. In Zagreb, guests can explore the city’s cobblestone streets and neo-baroque and art deco buildings before exploring the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Plitvice National Park. In Ljubljana, guests can enjoy a guided tour on the Ljubljanica River and a trip to Lake Bled, where the historic Church of St. Mary awaits. Guests will then be transferred to their Scenic Space-Ship in Budapest to begin the cruise along the Danube, Main and Rhine Rivers. Other highlights include a private classical evening concert with a complementary glass of fine Austrian Sekt in Vienna’s Palais Liechtenstein; a traditional Austrian lunch before the exclusive ‘Best of The Sound of Music and Salzburg Show’; a cable car ride overlooking the Rhine Gorge; and a private cruise along Amsterdam’s canals. Delightful Douro with Madrid

Guests can kick off their European summer adventure with a four-day stay in the city of Madrid. Guests will lodge in the luxury hotel Gran Meliá Palacio de los Duques before enjoying a tour of Madrid, including the 17th century Austrian Quarter, the Sabatini Gardens and the famous Cibeles and Neptuno Fountains. Guests may also join a guided tour of the stunning Prado Musuem or walk the corridors of the 18th century Royal Palace of Madrid. An included flight to Porto and transfer to Scenic Azure kicks off the Douro River leg. Highlights include guided tours of Lamego and Salamanca; tasting classes of local delicacies in the Côa Valley; and wine degustation on the renowned Quinta da Aveleda estate.
