Saudi Arabia Threatens Three-Year Ban for Those Visiting ‘Black-Listed’ Countries

Saudi Arabia has threatened those who travel to a 'black-listed' country with a three year travel ban on their return

Citizens of Saudi Arabia have been threatened with a three year travel ban if they choose to travel to a ‘black-listed’ country.

A statement on the Interior Ministry’s Twitter said: “Those found to have travelled to restricted countries would face “hefty penalties… as well as being prevented from travelling abroad for a period of three years.

“Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the spread of new variants, the ministry warns against travelling to countries on its (restricted) list, whether directly or indirectly via other countries.”

Saudi Arabia has banned travel to, or transit through, 16 countries including Afghanistan, Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Pakistan.
