Sail Through Summer of Sport

Princess Cruises has revealed it will broadcast a range of major sporting events on its UK-based ship, Sapphire Princess, this year

The 2,670-guest vessel will sail on a series of voyages from Southampton to the Mediterranean, northern Europe and Canada & New England between April and October.

Events being shown include:

  • Premier League football
  • Champions League football
  • 2019 Rugby World Cup
  • Wimbledon Championships
  • Major golf championships

Guests will have the choice of viewing the events in one of the onboard bar areas or via the ‘Movies Under The Stars’ top-deck cinema screen.

Tony Roberts, Vice President Princess Cruises UK and Europe, said: “We are delighted that we will once again offer the most popular domestic and international events to guests sailing on Sapphire Princess.

“Sports fans are in for a treat as they can grab a drink and a bite to eat and head up to the open deck or an onboard bar to watch the big match. Guests who prefer something a little less active can opt for a production show in the theatre, get a behind-the-scenes peek of Sapphire Princess via the ‘Ultimate Ship’s Tour’, or simply relax in one of the many onboard pools and hot tubs.”

Princess Cruises is offering a 14-day Baltic Heritage on Sapphire Princess, with prices from £1349 per person. Departing August 31, 2019, ports of call include Brussels/Bruges (Zeebrugge), Copenhagen, Stockholm, Tallinn, St. Petersburg (overnight call), Helsinki and Gdansk.
