Ryanair Boss Urges Government to ‘Speed up Testing’

Ryanair have reported a loss of £178 million in the six months to the end of September

Ryanair have commented on the announcement of the new restrictions to come into force in England later this week: “The Group expects to record higher losses in H2 than in H1.”

The airline spoke of a challenging next year and the possible revision of its full-year forecast of carrying 38 million passengers.

Micheal O’Leary spoke on Radio 4’s today programme: “National lockdown hasn’t defeated Covid. It’s a cover up for political mismanagement.

“We need much more effective tracing. Air travel, particularly short-haul and within the EU, can continue and has done so.

“We need to use this second lockdown to massively scale up testing.”
