Routine Covid-19 Test Checks at Border Told to Stop to Reduce Long Queues

Border staff are no longer checking for negative Covid tests in relation to those arriving from green and amber list countries

It has been reported that Border staff are no longer checking for negative Covid tests in relation to those arriving from green and amber list countries.

Trade union ISU says officers will no longer routinely check that people have tested negative before departure to reduce long queues at airports and therefore are letting travellers skip the checks.

 

Despite this, the government and industry group Airlines UK say airlines must, and are , verifying test results before inbound departure however the situation at UK border points was not addressed.
