Riviera Travel has announced that two on-board luxury enhancements, which were set to be introduced last year, will be unveiled on its 2021 European river cruises.
The ‘Riviera Plus’ package will be available to all guests in upper-deck cabins, and deluxe and superior suites. The package includes a range of premium benefits including a smart handset with unlimited calls, text messages, internet usage, local maps, a translator and currency converter.
A bottle of Prosecco will be served on arrival, with a platter of fresh seasonal fruits delivered during the cruise, as well as an aperitif each evening. L’Occitane en Provence toiletries will be provided in all bathrooms.
In addition, evening menus are being refined to include ‘Local Flavours’ dishes every evening, which will be themed on the regions guests are visiting. Options will include traditional Hungarian soup infused with smoky paprika, French cassoulet and traditional Dutch desserts.
A choice of wines to showcase both popular and lesser-known grape varieties will also be available, with many sourced from vineyards close to ship visits.
Both enhancements are included within the price and are available on 23 European river cruises, plus eight solo traveller river cruises, currently on sale. Destinations include the Danube, Rhine and the Rhone.
In addition, a fully flexible booking promise is in place to 30 April, which allows customers to change a booking for free any time prior to 45 days before travel on 2021 holidays, while up to €400 on-board credit is available on select European river cruises.
Katja Hildebrandt from Riviera Travel said: “Life’s luxuries have been in short supply recently, so we wanted to offer both Riviera Plus and Local Flavours again. Guests can take some well-deserved time to explore and unwind with our on-board extras, as well as feel more connected to the places we visit through our delicious and varied locally-sourced cuisine.
“Clients looking to escape from it all on their next holiday now have the perfect excuse to book one of our 2021 European river cruises.”
