Returning Holidaymakers Could be Forced into ‘Quarantine Hotels’

Holidaymakers returning to the UK from abroad may be forced into so-called 'quarantine hotels'

Holidaymakers returning to the UK from abroad may be forced into so-called ‘quarantine hotels’. The Home Secretary is expected to make an official announcement on this later today.

The new rules will apply to a list of over 30 countries including South Africa and South America, where new variants of Covid-19 have been detected.

Portugal is also reportedly on the list.

It is also understood that returning holidaymakers will have to pick up the tab for their stay in quarantine, which is likely to be around £1,000 to £1,500 per person.

Details of the policy are due to be announced in the House of Commons later today.
