Qatar Airways to Charter Flights for Queen’s University Belfast Students to Return to Campus

Qatar Airways continues its commitment to provide global connectivity to Chinese students following last year's charter flights to Queen’s University Belfast with two new charter flights scheduled for September 2021 to bring Chinese students back to Belfast to return to their studies

Qatar Airways has announced it will provide two charter flights in September from China to Queen’s University Belfast to enable students to return to campus, as the airline continues its commitment to providing global connectivity for international students.

Departing from Beijing and operated by Qatar Airways’ Boeing 777-300ER, each flight can accommodate up to 400 students attending Queen’s University Belfast. The airline has simplified the application process for the charter flights and is offering affordable prices for Chinese students to return to university this Autumn. This is in addition to Qatar Airways’ unique Student Club benefits for standard commercial tickets booking, which include promotional codes while booking, greater baggage allowances, complimentary ultra-fast Wi-Fi throughout the journey, upgrades, and more.

During the flight, students will be provided with the airline’s health kits, including gloves, wet tissues, hand sanitiser, and masks. Students will have to take the COVID-19 test at least three days prior to the flight, providing evidence of their negative test to board the flight, as per the UK government’s current guidelines.

“Qatar Airways’ mission is to be the reliable airline that people trust to fly with safely. Our commitment to students at Queen’s University Belfast is a true showcase for our unwavering determination to ensure and provide global connectivity, especially during this difficult time of the pandemic,” said Gary Kershaw, Qatar Airways’ UK and Ireland Country Manager.
