‘Projects That Matter’ Competition Launches

Launching on February 18, 2019, Crowdfunder Ltd has teamed up with Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council and Finegan Gibson Accountants Ltd to identify one project to participate in its 'Projects That Matter' competition, for the Lisburn & Castlereagh area

The successful entry will receive a pledge of £1,000 from Crowdfunder after they launch a project on Crowdfunder.co.uk and raise at least a further £1,000 from a minimum of 30 supporters during the time between the 8 April and 10 May 2019.

Through the partner organisations they will also receive support and mentoring to grow their Crowdfunder project and receive coverage on the Council’s social media channels to assist with the promotion of their project.

Entrants must be not-for-profit groups or organisations who already assist or want to assist a local community. Projects that would be eligible include those that make a positive difference to people’s lives e.g. helping the homeless, addressing mental health or tackling the issue of plastic waste.

In support of this competition, Chair of Leisure and Community Development, Alderman Paul Porter said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for those extraordinary people in our community who are working extremely hard to make positive changes and provide support to those who need it most. It is a chance for supporting those who are already dedicating their time to support others and I urge groups and organisations to apply as soon as possible, to avail of the £1000 boost and the support from the Council.”

To be in with a chance of receiving the £1,000 pledge, projects must:

  • Be located in the Lisburn & Castlereagh area;
  • Benefit the community of the Lisburn & Castlereagh area;
  • Be up and running within 12 months of receiving the pledge.

The closing date for entries is 22 February 2019 at 17:30pm. For Terms & Conditions please go to: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/lisburn-and-castlereagh. Entrants must be 18 years of age and be based in Lisburn & Castlereagh and/or benefit communities in the Lisburn & Castlereagh area.
