The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has given hotels, B&Bs, campsites and other accommodation across England the green light to reopen on July 4.

In a statement to the Commons, the PM announced that “self-contained accommodation, including hotels, bed and breakfasts, as well as campsites” could reopen provided they observed hygiene guidelines. Social distancing is also being reduced to one metre.

He also announced that “most leisure facilities and tourist attractions will reopen if they can do so safely.”

The relaxation of rules means up to two households can stay together in holiday accommodation.

Theme parks, museums, galleries, cinemas and arcades are also allowed to reopen, however waterparks, nightclubs and swimming pools will remain closed.
