President Biden Won’t Relax Rules on Travel From Europe

New US President Joe Biden won't lift restrictions on travellers from the UK

Outgoing US President Donald Trump announced that the travel ban for inbound travellers from the UK and much of Europe would be lifted on January 26, however new President Joe Biden was quick to block this.

Jen Psaki, Biden’s Press Secretary said: “On the advice of our medical team, the Administration does not intend to lift these restrictions. In fact, we plan to strengthen public health measures around international travel in order to further mitigate the spread of Covid-19.

“This is not the time to be lifting restrictions on international travel.”

The US has banned inbound travellers who have spent the past 14 days in the UK, Ireland or the 26 countries making up the European Schengen area from entering the US.
