Pampered passengers rejoice as Cunard re-opens kennels

The Cunard liner, Queen Mary 2, will re-open their 24 kennels

As Mother’s Day approaches, Cunard shared the good news for globetrotting mums of the four-legged variety, with the re-opening of their 24 kennels on Queen Mary 2, the world’s only ocean liner.

Dogs and cats will be able to enjoy their sailing and travel in as much style as their humans. Pooch parents will feel special, free and inspired on their transatlantic crossing, safe in the knowledge their beloved pets are accommodated for – with a dedicated owners lounge, their own deck area to play in and all dietary requirements taken care of.

So as not to cause any homesickness, British dogs can find familiarity with a lamppost taken from the Cunard building in Liverpool and dogs from the USA naturally enjoy a New York City fire hydrant!

Cunard has famously had a close relationship with animals in its 182-year history, with raccoons, elephants and even a baby hippopotamus making trips across the pond. Other faces who sailed across the Atlantic with their pets include Liz Taylor, Richard Burton and their Maltese Terrier, Snowy.

Kennel master Oliver, who has held his position with Cunard for over a decade, says,

“We are thrilled to make more memories for guests and their much-loved pets in 2022. We are delighted to now cook meals to order for even the fussiest pooches! Cunard cannot wait to warmly welcome our furry friends on board.”

Queen Mary 2’s 24 kennels will re-open April 2022. To book online, please visit cunard.com.
