Ottawa Tourism Ready to Welcome Visitors Back

Ottawa Tourism and members have been working hard to ensure they are ready to welcome package travel groups and FIT to Ottawa with a recently launched Visitor Incentive Programme (Ottawa VIP)

Despite the tough year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ottawa Tourism and members have been working hard to ensure they are ready to welcome package travel groups and FIT to Ottawa with a recently launched Visitor Incentive Programme (Ottawa VIP).

The Canadian Capital is located in the eastern region of Ontario with 37% of the population speaking French. Ottawa is a usual hub for tourists with vibrant nightlife and an abundance of museums to brush up on Canadian history. The laid back atmosphere of this blossoming city makes for a perfect destination to get your fill for all things Canada.

The Ottawa VIP offers operators $50.00 per room night, when each room night at participating hotels is accompanied with a paid admission(s) at a participating attraction.

For this programme, there is no minimum room nights requirement per booking and clients have until December 31, 2021 to complete the travel. The reconciliation of $50.00 per room night will be paid to the operator, when each room night is complemented with a paid admission(s) at an attraction. This programme requires the participating company to have a Canadian Bank account to receive the reimbursement.

Operators can use the Ottawa VIP to assist with packaged travel that is already planned to come to Ottawa this year, or to create some new packages for Group or FITs. Click here to check out the programme.

Participate in the Ottawa VIP in 3 easy steps:

  1. Apply as a tour operator: Eligible operators must sign up to the Ottawa VIP and obtain a signed agreement from Ottawa Tourism prior to their first booking.
  2. Register your bookings: Eligible operators are required to register each qualifying group or FIT booking at least 5 business days prior to the start date of travel.
  3. Submit your Billing summary: Eligible operators need to submit a detailed billing summary once visitors have completed their trip to Ottawa and all suppliers have been paid.
