Irish agents have attended APT TravelMarvel MS Estrela’s Christening – the first APT ship to sail the Douro.
In the Northern region of Portugal, agents are getting a taste of this river ship’s luxurious offering to its guests, whilst sailing onboard for four nights.
During this time, agents have witnessed the christening of the river ship APT Godmother Lucy Huxley, Editor-in-Chief of Travel weekly.
The momentous occasion was celebrated on the banks of the river Douro, surrounded by travel trade and media from across the UK and Ireland.
Despite heavy downpours on the days leading up to the event causing the river ship to sail beyond Porto sooner than expected, attendees were greeted by sunshine and blue skies for her christening event.
The river ship will now sail to Peso da Régua before arriving back in its home port of Porto at the end of the week.
