On Tuesday 1st September, NI Travel News’ Cara visited SeaDream Yacht Club’s SeaDream II ship as it arrived in Belfast for the first time, showcasing the world of luxury yachting.
SeaDream II is currently sailing a 7 night voyage around the UK and Ireland from Troon, Scotland to Dublin, Ireland and is visiting various destinations along the way.
SeaDream Yacht Club operates twin ships; SeaDream I and SeaDream II, both featuring six decks, 56 staterooms and suites, along with 95 members of staff.
As soon as you step onboard, it’s clear that this is a yacht and not a traditional cruise. The decks feature a traditional wood interior giving it that classic yachting feel, while its cosy intimate areas give guest the opportunity to socialise.
Throughout the tour, visitors had the opportunity to explore the ships lounges, pool deck, spa and fitness facilities, library and casino, offering a great rang of activities for guests.
When guests aren’t off the ship exploring, there is plenty to do on board, from water sports such as paddle boarding, kayaking or jet skiing, to a relaxing evening under the stars on its Balinese Dream beds.
SeaDream II also focuses on high quality, fresh food. Its menu changes everyday, offering a variety of options for guest, alongside its raw organic vegan menu. During the visit, guests enjoyed a freshly prepared lunch served in The Topside Restaurant.
It was also a very special day as SeaDream Yacht Club marked its 25th anniversary, making it a quarter-century since founder Atle Brynestad brought his vision to sea. Its philosophy has always been ’It’s Yachting, Not Cruising’ and after spending a day onboard we can see why.
The visit highlighted Northern Ireland’s growing importance’s a cruise destination, bringing international cruise visitors to the region every year.
