The Northern Ireland Executive has promised to finalise a pathway to recovery as early as next week.

Speaking at the NI Executive Covid-19 Press Conference from Ranfurly House, Dungannon, Finance Minister Conor Murphy said: “We have agreed that the current measures put in place to control the virus should largely be extended for a further four weeks until the 1st of April and the restrictions will be revised again once more on the 18th of March.

“It’s very clear that we need to tread very carefully… small and gradual steps are crucial and restrictions will be driven not by dates but by the path of the pandemic.

“As we move forward… the executive will do all it can to help those most in need and will continue to provide further financial assistance to help individuals and businesses through this next lot of restrictions.

“We do want to give people an indication of how the restrictions could be lifted when it is the right time to do so and next week we hope to finalise out pathway out of the restrictions which we will bring forward to the assembly and the public as soon as possible.”
