Banter, the art of clever quips, self-deprecating jests, and good-natured teasing, holds a pivotal role in the communication repertoire of most Brits.
Taking the crown as the city with the most banter is Belfast, scoring an unbeatable 100 out of 100 for its first-class comedy.
Those living in Northern Ireland’s capital voted sarcasm and irony as their favourite type of banter at 40%. A fewer but still significant 26% chose poking fun at others in a lighthearted manner, whilst 19% didn’t have a preference at all when it came to their banter.
