New Travel Experience on American Routes from Dublin

The world's largest airline, American Airlines, is introducing its new Premium Economy travel experience to select routes from Dublin

Premium Economy is now available to purchase for travel from January 15, 2018, on American’s daily service from Dublin (DUB) to Philadelphia (PHL), and from May 4 2018, on the daily service from Dublin to Charlotte Douglas (CLT).

Both routes will be operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft and will feature 21 Premium Economy seats.

American is the first US network carrier to launch international Premium Economy and will be the first carrier to offer Premium Economy on flights from Ireland to the States. Premium Economy is directly behind Business Class, providing an enhanced product offering compared to the Main Cabin, both on the ground and in the air.

Customers flying Premium Economy will be able to board earlier with priority boarding. On the aircraft, Premium Economy features a larger leather seat including 38 inches of pitch, complete with personal on-demand entertainment systems, larger touchscreen monitors with access to movies, TV shows, music and games, and noise-reducing headphones. Customers can also enjoy an enhanced meal service, an amenity kit, as well as complimentary wine, beer and spirits.

“American’s new Premium Economy service is an exciting addition for the Irish market,” said Caitriona Toner, Country Sales Manager for Ireland. “Customers crossing the Atlantic can look forward to an enhanced travel experience and superior level of comfort, ideal for both business and leisure customers.”

American Airlines has been flying from Dublin since 2003 and currently operates up to four flights a day between Dublin and Chicago O’Hare (ORD), New York (JFK) Philadelphia and Charlotte, as well as a seasonal service from Shannon (SNN) to Philadelphia.

American is in the midst of more than $3 billion in planned investments to offer customers a superior travel experience around the world. These investments include fully lie-flat premium seating; Wi-Fi accessibility on all long haul aircraft; more inflight entertainment options and power outlets and a new, modern design for lounges worldwide.
