Mullans Bay at Lough Erne Announces COVID-19 Safety Plan

Self-catering accommodation provider, Mullans Bay announces its Covid-19 safety plan in preparation for reopening

Whilst an official resumption date is uncertain for self-catering holiday providers, the small, idyllic resort in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland prepares its Covid-19 safety precautions for a hopeful domestic season.

Mullans Bay is a rural 36-acre parkland featuring six Lakeside Lodges and two Villas and an Apartment. It is located on Boa Island and overlooks the picturesque Lough Erne.

Guest safety is a number one priority for Mullans Bay and as many sources including Northern Ireland Economy Minister, Diane Dodds are indicating the recovery of the tourism industry will begin in the domestic market, the resort announces the following measures to prepare:

  • All accommodations will have a deep clean between bookings.
  • Contactless check-in will take place where guests travel straight to the accommodation door in their vehicle.
  • All guests will be asked to wash their hands regularly and respect other guests by staying two metres apart, especially if they are enjoying the trail around the parkland, lakeside terrace, or tennis court.
  • Hand sanitiser will be provided at the lakeside terrace and tennis court.

Adrian Walmsley, Owner of Mullans Bay comments: “We look forward to an official opening date from the government but in the meantime, we are preparing for the safety of our guests.”

“We are fortunate this parkland is not overcrowded with people or buildings and provides opportunities to enjoy the peace and tranquillity, fresh air, and lake views. Each accommodation type is a significant distance apart and has individual, private outdoor areas. Communal spaces are limited at Mullans Bay, so we believe a contactless stay is possible.”

“Recently, we have been receiving numerous enquiries from our regular guests who are familiar with the layout of the properties, and they are requesting reservations for later this year so we believe there will be many people having staycation holidays in 2020.”

When arranging a domestic holiday to Mullans Bay, visitors can choose from six contemporary Lakeside Lodges that accommodate four people with some of the lodges featuring an extra mezzanine room suitable for two kids, and the Platinum Lodge includes a private outdoor hot tub. There is also two villas and an apartment available, The Gatehouse villa has five en-suite bedrooms to sleep ten guests, The Willows villa has five en-suite bedrooms for twelve guests and the Apartment is complete with a family bedroom featuring two double beds ideal for a family with young children.
