Mount Congreve Celebrates ‘Woodland Lights’ & Visitor Number Increase through 2019

The 70-acre Mount Congreve Gardens has opened its first Christmas themed event, 'Woodland Lights' where visitors can enjoy a stroll through the stunning gardens and enjoy wonderful twinkling lights within the walled gardens

The 70-acre Mount Congreve Gardens has opened its first Christmas themed event, ‘Woodland Lights’ where visitors can enjoy a stroll through the stunning gardens and enjoy wonderful twinkling lights within the walled gardens.

This event is the final event of 2019 and one of 10 special events hosted at the famous gardens over the last 12 months, this series of successful events hosted throughout the year combined with a strategic marketing message has seen visitor numbers to the site increase by 15% year on year.

Commenting on the growth in visitors Estate Manager at Mount Congreve Ray Sinnott says, “We are delighted to announce growth in visitor numbers to Mount Congreve Gardens. We commenced this year with an ambition to reach new audiences and create special and unique events attracting visitors into the gardens whom may have never thought to visit prior to now, as we know once they come and see what is on offer they will most certainly come back and share the details of what a beautiful place Mount Congreve is with their friends and family.

“We also launched a new website in early 2019, a new seamless ticketing solution, new membership packages for families and for individuals, a series of new events and committed to a communications and marketing campaign which has seen Mount Congreve Gardens feature across TV along with national, regional and local print and radio and online and we have lots of new ideas and ambitious plans for 2020.

Woodland Lights is the final event in the 2019 calendar and we hope that is is a great success, it is now open from Thursday to Sunday from noon to 7 pm until January 5th and it’s a really beautiful winter walk experience for all of the family.”

At Woodland Lights, visitors can enter the four-acre walled gardens under a canopy of twinkling lights as they begin their festive voyage through the glistening lights leading into the wonder of the lit-up walled garden and Georgian glasshouses. The Café at Mount Congreve Gardens will also be open late for visitors to enjoy delicious hot chocolate or spiced drinks after their woodland walk. Mount Congreve Gardens also offers direct access to and from the Waterford Greenway.

Woodland Lights at Mount Congreve will open on Thursday, December 5th 2019 until January 5th 2020 every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7 pm daily with the exception of Thursday & Friday, December 26th & 27th.
