Madeira to Reopen to Visitors from July 1

Madeira will reopen to tourists and offer free Covid-19 tests to visitors

Madeira will reopen to tourists on July 1 and provide free coronavirus tests on arrival.

Alternatively, visitors have the option of presenting a negative test taken no more than 72 hours before departure.

Having registered only 90 cases of coronavirus, the Portuguese islands are positioning themselves as a Covid-safe destination.

They said they’re working with SGS, a global inspection, verification, testing and certification company to ensure good practice across the islands and minimise risk in the wake of Covid-19.
