The lucky prize winner Ash Rizi with his friend Richard Watson, both from Rory’s hometown of Holywood in County Down, played 18 holes alongside Rory at Royal Portrush. The winners also played at Castlerock Golf Club whilst staying and playing at Roe Park Resort. To top it off, the money-can’t-buy prize also included a full set of new TaylorMade clubs.
Competition winner Ash Rizi, said: “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to play a round with Rory, and Richard and I would like to thank GolfNow and Roe Park Resort for such an incredible prize. As golfers and fellow Holywood natives, we definitely didn’t take it easy on Rory!”
The Roe Park Resort’s resident PGA Professional Michael McCrudden said: “It was an amazing experience for Roe Park Resort to be part of such a unique competition. The campaign targeted golfers across the UK, shining a spotlight on the North Coast of Ireland, offering golfers the chance to win a round with Rory. With over 222,000 entries this unique opportunity captured the imagination of the avid golf fan.”
“With the 2019 Open Championship hosted in Portrush, we have seen a surge in the number of people interested in taking up golf, with many developing a new-found passion for the game. To cater to this, we recently completed a major investment programme totalling £1 millon, transforming the Roe Park Resort golf course, so we hope to see even more golfers take to the green ahead of the Open next year.”
