Tourism NI has launched its new Giant Adventure Map – a first-of-its-kind interactive map for Northern Ireland, allowing local people to tag their favourite places and plan their next adventure.

The map will impower locals to share the places they’ve been visiting since childhood, as well as new or lesser-known visitor hotspots which are bursting with Northern Ireland’s giant spirit.

Iconic locations like the Giant’s Causeway, Titanic Belfast and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge are delighting millions of visitors and catching the attention of travel experts such as Lonely Planet, but there are so many local hidden gems which deserve to be in the spotlight too.

So, for the first time you can share your favourite place to go for a meal, your go-to forest for walks, and your best beach for a dip or the museum where you like to soak up some culture.

With so many incredible sights to see and things to do, Tourism NI is asking for your help to promote your favourite by simply putting it on the map.

Tourism NI’s Social and Digital Manager, Paul Coleman said the interactive map could help form the ultimate bucket list for short breaks and days away in Northern Ireland.

He said: “With over 1.8million people in Northern Ireland we can really tap into some amazing insights and uncover a host of hidden gems which are waiting to be enjoyed and explored.

“The Giant Adventure Map is an innovative new concept that will allow you to highlight those personal hidden gems you’d proudly recommend to a friend.

“It will also help both locals and visitors alike discover the best of Northern Ireland through personal recommendations and provide unique inspiration for future giant adventures.

“Is there a rival to Kodak Corner offering even better views across Carlingford Lough that only locals know about or is there a new restaurant doing incredible things with our world class produce or an awesome art gallery nestled away in a quiet village? If you’ve got a suggestion, put it on the map.

“This is the start of something special – a growing, evolving resource for everyone to showcase their area, recommend a new spot and, most importantly, embrace Northern Ireland’s giant spirit.”

Highlighting the town you love so well, the best places to go, eat and drink in Northern Ireland couldn’t be easier. Simply pin your favourite spots to the Giant Adventure Map by uploading your favourite photos, videos and descriptive captions to your socials with the hashtag #MyGiantAdventure.
