Lough Erne Named One Of Most Instagrammable Golf Locations in UK

Lough Erne Resort’s Faldo Golf Course has been named as one of the most Instagrammable golf locations in the UK

Lough Erne Resort’s Faldo Golf Course has been named as one of the most Instagrammable golf locations in the UK.

The renowned Faldo Championship Golf Course, designed by 6 time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo, came runner up across the UK following research carried out by watch brand Jura Watches.

The Faldo course is a top 100 course (Ireland and UK) that measures 7,167 yards and plays to a par 72. Playable all year round, its iconic 10th hole, Emerald Isle, features a green surrounded by water on three sides, it is one of the most visually beautiful holes you’ll find on an Irish or UK golf course.

Jura Watches research found that Lough Erne Resort had the second highest number of golf-course related Instagram hashtags in the whole of the UK, beating distinguished locations including Royal Portrush in County Antrim, Royal County Down, and even the famous St Andrews Golf Course in Scotland.

The study showed there were 28,553 hashtags including the Lough Erne Resort, more than double the amount of Royal Portrush, which was placed third, with 12,754.

Joanne Walsh, General Manager at Lough Erne Resort, said that everyone at the resort is delighted with the news.

“We are very proud to be recognised as one of the UK’S most Instagram-friendly courses. Anyone familiar with our Faldo Course will know how visually stunning its scenery is, with its breath-taking views of the Fermanagh Lakelands. It’s a credit to our amazing golf team and the continued work they do to maintain the courses impeccable condition”.

Lough Erne Resort is also home to another internationally renowned year-round course, Castle Hume, a championship parkland course with spectacular views, manicured fairways, and well contoured greens. Castle Hume has been host to an unprecedented 10 Ulster PGA Championships and measures just over 6,200 yards, playing to a testing par of 70.

Since its opening almost 15 years ago, Lough Erne Resort, set on a 600-acre peninsula with spectacular views of the Fermanagh Lakelands, has marked itself out as a must-play golfing destination.
